Let's Get More Greenspace on the Southside

This empty lot is currently used illegally for vehicle storage.

But it could be a cool community space!

The City of St Petersburg owns an empty lot at 6th Ave S and 26th St S in the Palmetto Park neighborhood. It's currently being used illegally for storage for vehicles in various states of disrepair.

The south side has long been underserved when it comes to greenspace and public amenities. Our neighbors to the north in Historic Kenwood enjoy the expansive Seminole Park, while Palmetto Park has only the Palmetto Park Tot Lot, a small playground roughly a quarter the size of Seminole Park.

We can do better!

Our neighbors want a place to relax, connect with nature, and connect with one another, and this lot offers exactly that opportunity. Converting it into greenspace aligns directly with the Community Redevelopment Area's mission and represents precisely the kind of community-driven improvement the program was created to support.

How You Can Help

Use the link to the right to email city officials and urge them to convert this empty lot into neighborhood greenspace. All it takes is a few clicks. Customizing the email is best, but even sending the form email helps. Be sure to add your name and address to the bottom of the email.

(If you're using Outlook, change the commas between email addresses to semicolons.)

Email city officials!
